Ms. Nicholson received her Juris Doctor with Highest Honors from the Santa Barbara and Ventura Colleges of Law in 2017. While there, she earned Certificates of Concentration in both Family Law and Business Law. She graduated first in her class as Valedictorian, and she passed the California Bar Examination on her only attempt.
While attending law school, Ms. Nicholson volunteered for the Ventura County Superior Court’s Family Law Self-Help Center. She was also a foster parent in Ventura County, working with CASAs, Child Protective Services, and many local organizations to help support the children in her care. She fostered five children in long-term placements during a five-year period, and she remains closely connected with many of them.
Prior to attending law school, Ms. Nicholson graduated from California State University, Fresno with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English. She received her Master of Arts in English, with honors, from California State University, Bakersfield, where she studied writing and literature with an emphasis on stylistic analyses.
Now, Ms. Nicholson gives back to her community in a variety of ways. She volunteers regularly at the Conejo Free Legal Clinic, providing legal services for low-income litigants. She has also taught at the Santa Barbara and Ventura Colleges of Law, guiding students through classes such as the Litigation Process, Legal Writing, Remedies, and Bar Studies. She serves on the board of the Ventura County Family Law Bar Association, and she is the current President of Women Lawyers of Ventura County, advocating on behalf of women and girls in the local community. She was acknowledged as one of the best divorce lawyers in Ventura by Expertise.com, and she was named a 2023 Super Lawyers Rising Star.
Ms. Nicholson is proud to be a resident of Ventura County, and she has close ties to the area. She is passionate about working with her clients to ease the emotional and financial burdens that often accompany active Family Law cases.
